Dear Parents/Carers

As we approach the end of 2024 and reflect on our achievements over the year, we also take time to wish members of our YBC Family past and present lots of love, luck and happiness over the Christmas period and into 2025. 

I wanted to write to thank you for your ongoing commitment and support in helping to enable your child to make progress in a broad range of areas and support Ysgol Bryn Castell during 2024. The school are excited about working with you all as we move into 2025 together. 

Christmas Fayre 

Thank you to you all for your generous donations and support for the Christmas Fayre – it was really positive to see so many people enjoying the festivities at the school. We managed to raise over £1,000 for The Friends of YBC, who will use the money to support a range of engaging learning activities and experiences for pupils. 

Parent/Carer Governor Election Result 

Mr Brian Harrison has been re-elected by the Parents/Carers of the school and will take up position from 12^thDecember 2024.

The Spring term will begin at 10:00 on Monday 6^th January 2025 for pupils and would like to remind you that inset days for the academic year have been confirmed as below:

New Behaviour Policy 

The Governing Body are in the process of developing a new behaviour policy and have been working hard with staff and other partners and would greatly appreciate your feedback. Your insights and suggestions are invaluable in helping us create a supportive and effective environment for all our Pupils. 

The school will send a link to a survey via Teachers2Parents for your comments, or alternatively please e-mail feedback@ybc.bridgend.cymru by Monday 20^th January 2025.

Ysgol Bryn Castell’s priority continues to be the health and wellbeing of pupils, staff and the school community and recognise that it is only through working together that we can achieve the best possible outcomes for our pupils and YBC Family.
